Fiji Holidays - Getaways still affordable

FijiWith the world in the midst of a recession, travel is going to be one of the first things to be avoided by people feeling the crunch. The luxury destinations may feel the pinch but budget resorts and cheaper holiday areas should go well. Fiji has avoided the global meltdown and its business as usual for these laid back islanders. So for a cheap vacation option, Fiji holidays should still be considered for families and couples alike.

The Fiji capital is Suva. While the other major city of Nadi is the tourist capital, Suva Fiji always has great value for money accommodation available and is close to the resorts and attractions on the east of the island. Just 40 minutes drive from Suva is the fast developing Pacific Harbour. With long beaches and Fiji’s only championship golf course its easy to see why Pacific Harbour is doing so well. Suva is relatively close to the centre of the Fijian Island group and would make the perfect base to explore many of the islands.

Fiji AccommodationFor the majority of visitors, Nadi is the place to start from. Nadi Fiji is close to the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands, the luxurious Denarau Island and the hugely popular Coral Coast. Its on the Coral Coast that you’ll find The Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji, Naviti Resort and Natadola. The coast starts just 10 minutes south from Nadi and features large resorts on white, sandy beaches.

The Mamanuca Islands features possibly the most well known islands in Fiji. Some of the Fiji Islands accommodation includes Castaway Island, Bounty Island, Beachcomber Island, Matamanoa, Treasure Island, Vomo…. the list goes on and on. Ranging from 3 to 5 stars, these island resorts will fulfill your dreams of the idyllic island holiday.
