The Australian snow season is very short with July and August being the best times for skiing but the season can extend sometimes into early October. The two most well known snow regions in the country are Perisher and Thredbo and both are nearly full for the upcoming season. Some accommodation is available in the surrounding areas like Crackenback and Jindabyne but is disappearing rapidly.

All the ski resorts are found along the Great Dividing Range, in Southern New South Wales and Northern Victoria.
